About This Dog for Adoption

Mookie's ideal home

If you have always dreamed of sharing your life with a big, beautiful Husky full of charm, energy, and fluff, Mookie could be the boy for you. Just under 2 years old, this striking lad is all about adventure and excitement. Out on walks, he believes he is leading a sled team to glory, so his new family will need to be confident and physically strong enough to manage his enthusiasm on the lead.

Mookie would love a secure garden where he can zoom around, play, and let off steam, but most of all, he is looking for people who will enjoy his lively nature and give him plenty of chances to explore. He could live with children aged 12 and over who are confident with a big, boisterous dog, and while he has not lived with another dog before, he could potentially share his home with a calm, neutered female following successful introductions.

Could you be Mookie's perfect match?

This sweet-natured boy is friendly with people and fine with visitors, but he is generally more interested in the world around him than in fuss – until he decides it is cuddle time! He is happy being groomed, has a wonderful ‘singing’ voice, and will no doubt make you smile every day with his antics. Mookie enjoys playing with squeaky toys, has been relaxed around traffic, and even hopped into the car without hesitation.

He has not had much formal training, but he is bright, curious, and will thrive with positive reinforcement and patience. He is not housetrained yet, but as he usually toilets soon after coming out of his kennel, he should pick it up quickly in a home setting. While he can walk with other dogs, his intense play style means not every dog will appreciate his company, so his best social interactions are likely to be with friends he meets out and about.

If you can offer Mookie the exercise, mental stimulation, and understanding a young Husky needs, you will be rewarded with a stunning, spirited companion who is as entertaining as he is handsome.

Husky Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Siberian Husky.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Siberian Husky Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
