About This Dog for Adoption

Xena's ideal home

Xena is a stunning 7-year-old Husky Cross searching for her forever home. Full of energy and fun, she thrives on being out and about, exploring the world, and is always ready for her next adventure.

Having spent most of her life in a home, Xena is housetrained and currently lives happily with another dog. We believe she could settle well with a doggy companion in her new home too. She’s used to being left for a few hours, though always with another dog for company, so we recommend gradually building this up again once she’s settled.

Playtime is one of Xena’s favourite things whether it’s fetch, chase, or splashing around in a pool, she’s always eager to join in. She can be strong on the lead at times, but with her love of food and her eagerness to please, we’re confident she’ll pick up learning new things quickly.

Xena has previously lived with older children, and due to her excitable nature, we feel she’d be best suited to a home with children aged 10 and above.

Could you be Xena's perfect match?

Xena is an bouncy and exuberant girlie, who can often get herself into a bit of a pickle. It's important she can have a safe area in the home when being left where she can't access things she shouldn't as she has been known to steal items. It's important her new family share her love of the outdoors and active lifestyle. She has so much love to give a family that can match her zest for life! This dog is currently being rehomed under our Home Stay scheme. Under this scheme, the dog stays with their current owner until the point of adoption, when the ownership transfers briefly to Dogs Trust and then to the new adopters. The benefits of Home Stay for a dog are that it minimises disruption and prevents the dog having to come into kennels, however there is the potential the owner may pull out of the scheme prior to adoption. We understand the upset this may cause to potential adopters, and we work closely with the owners to minimised the likelihood of this. However, it remains a possibility, and should this occur, Dogs Trust will prioritise finding adopters an alternative dog.
