About This Dog for Adoption

Jack's ideal home

Meet Jack! He’s a sensitive and playful boy looking for a calm and patient home. Seven-year-old Jack is cautious at first, preferring to take things slow when meeting new people, but once he’s comfortable, his goofy personality shines through. He has some discomfort in his back legs and prefers a hands-off approach when it comes to handling, especially early on. Jack would do best in a home where he can settle at his own pace, with adopters who respect his boundaries. He needs an adult-only home, as he has had some snapping incidents when handled too quickly, and he hasn’t lived with children before. He’ll also need to be the only pet at home but is happy to meet larger dogs for playtime. He can get frustrated on the lead if he can’t say hello to other dogs but is generally friendly with them once he’s had the chance to greet them. Jack is strong on the lead, especially when there’s something he wants to get to, but with training, he can walk calmly in quieter areas. He’s used to car travel but would appreciate a ramp or steps to make it more comfortable.

Could you be Jack's perfect match?

When it comes to food, Jack is on a special diet for sensitive tummies. He prefers his meals in a quiet, calm spot and would benefit from enrichment toys to slow down his eating. Jack’s always on the lookout for tasty treats, so keeping food out of reach is a must. He may also try to “intercept” food during mealtimes, so it’s best to give him something to focus on in another room. Jack enjoys playing with squeaky toys and will entertain himself by booping them with his nose! He prefers to play solo rather than interactively with people, but if his humans do join in, it’s always best to play ‘drop and swap’ games.
