About This Dog

Alice's ideal home

Alice can live with high school aged kids but not other pets. We have no history for her so cannot be sure that she is house trained or used to spending time alone. As a Husky Akita cross, Alice is going to moult a lot, so be prepared to get brushing!

Could you be Alice's perfect match?

Alice was a little unsure of her new surroundings but she's now settled well, though she will stand and give it the Husky howl in her kennel from time to time! She likes a slow approach from people, giving her time to investigate and relax, after which she will encourage interaction. She would benefit from some confidence building with her adopters, being allowed time to suss things out and rewarded for being brave and curious, without being pushed into anything. Alice loves to play with toys with her handler and this is another way to help her feel more confident. She has met a few dogs at the centre and happily walks with them after an introductory sniff, but she does seem afraid of larger breeds when they're playful, so friends need to be chosen carefully so as not to leave her feeling intimidated. Alice seems happy to jump into our vehicles so may be used to travelling.
