Cleo
About This Dog
Cleo's ideal home
Cleo is a gentle, sweet natured older lady searching for a calm and loving home where she can truly enjoy a quieter pace of life. She would thrive in a home with access to her own secure garden, giving her the freedom to potter about and relax in her own time. While Cleo has previously been left alone for short periods, she would benefit from this being built up gradually in her new home, and she may need a little support with housetraining as she settles in.
Cleo is a friendly girl and will happily soak up all the fuss and attention on offer! She is very food motivated, which will be a great help when building a bond with her, and she will also engage in play with toys when encouraged. She could potentially share her home with another calm dog, and she may also live with children of any age following a successful introduction at the centre.
Having previously lived with a cat, Cleo may be able to do so again, provided introductions are carried out slowly. As a husky, she will require regular grooming to keep her coat in good condition; she is accustomed to visiting the groomer and handles this well. Cleo would make a wonderful companion for someone looking to offer a peaceful home and plenty of love to a deserving older dog.
Could you be Cleo's perfect match?
This dog is currently being rehomed under our Homestay scheme. Under this scheme, the dog stays with their current owner until the point of adoption, when ownership transfers briefly to Dogs Trust and then to the new adopters. The benefits of Homestay for a dog are that it minimises disruption and prevents the dog having to come into kennels, however there is the potential the owner may pull out of the scheme prior to adoption. We understand the upset this may cause to potential adopters, and we work closely with owners to minimise the likelihood of this. However, it remains a possibility, and should this occur, Dogs Trust will prioritise finding adopters an alternative suitable dog.
